Lindsay Swanson is an educator, a mother, and a wife with over twenty years of experience working with children and families in Texas. A survivor of sexual abuse and assault herself, she is passionate about promoting interventions for the authentic healing of individuals who have experienced the burden of trauma.

From the time she completed her Bachelor of Science at Baylor University, majoring in Child and Family studies, to currently completing her Master’s of Education in May 2026 from Abilene Christian University, she has continued to advocate for the needs of all children and adults, bringing awareness to the increasing epidemic of trauma affecting not only our children, but also the nurturers, caretakers, educators, and ministers who have been called as instruments in their healing.

Any adult who works with or ministers to children and families can testify to the immense brokenness that our children and families are currently experiencing in our country and across the globe. Mental illness, traumatic stress, and PTSD are exponentially increasing, and current psychiatric interventions are not providing the necessary and impactful relief to our most vulnerable populations. Our cities, programs, churches, and especially our schools are struggling to balance empathy with accountability, and with very little guidance,; many of those who work with children and families feel as if they are barely keeping their head above the water. Trauma and its destructive consequences have permeated our families, classrooms, worship services, and our communities as a whole. The influence of technology and increased diagnosis of mental health disorders has done nothing to lessen this burden, and we desperately need to adapt our perspectives and our interventions to include trauma- responsive practice.

Her debut book, The Deep Embrace of Redemption: A Survivor-Informed Guide to Trauma-Responsive Practice brings her personal and redemptive testimony of abuse and trauma combined with innovative and practical research based interventions for healing and restoring those affected the most by the affects of trauma and toxic stress.

As Executive Director of Development for Fallow and Bloom Farmstead, she is dedicated to nurturing those in need with the love of Christ, the beauty of creation, and the restoring power of creativity.
